Big Front Disc Brakes
Does anyone know any manufacturer that makes a big front disc brake kit for the ford trucks 73-79. If not how about crossdrilled hub/rotor? Aftermarket Calipers. Anything besides the stock plain jane. I have been bugging SSBC to make something for the 73-79 truck.

You can get significant improvement by using good parts such as drilled and sloted rotors and powder coated calipers (steel pistons) from NAPA under the United line. On my rig I also intend to replace the rubber lines to the calipers with braded but need to find some extened lengths for 2 wheel drive.

If you are going to run drilled/slotted rotors, keep in mind that though the brakes might cool better, the actual swept-area of the disc is lessened by having slots/holes drilled into them. This provides less area in which the brake pad has to grab onto the disc. To combat this, you must use a larger disc to offset the loss of material on a drilled/slotted disc.
