Talking Race Bullets

Would Race Bullets made by dynomax be able to pass a state inspection? I know there's a possibility for "disturbing the peace" tickets and all, but would the be able to pass an inspection in say Texas? I know I've read that they are for "Race use only", but does that mean that the really can't be used on the street or what?

It'll pass. It counts as the "muffler". There's people that pass even without mufflers

In some states it is not that there is a muffler, but that the truck is not more than a certain dB louder than stock. Ask your inspections place what they look for or ask the local fuzz, they could tell you as well.

Yes, ask the locals before you do it.

I had an Iowa State Highway Patrol officer telling me once that glasspacks are illegal and do not count as mufflers. He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. Maybe not in California..but here in good old Iowa. ^_^

Race Bullets do sound wicked. Depending on the cost, I might run them someday. Course...with glasspacks being 20 bucks a pop...that's not too likely

Summit had the Dynomax Race Bullets for 32 bucks. Not too bad and definetely cheaper than flows. I'll post the link to them, so they can be seen. Are the one's linked to the ones that would be fairly loud? Also, would they still sound good but louder at lower RPM's? Also, what about highway resonance in the cab, I don't think that the 40 series that I have on my truck is that bad on the highway, so how would these compare? Humm, I'm full of questions this afternoon. thanks

Dynomax Race Magnum Bullets

I am guessing that the smaller the case length the louder...is this right?

how do the race bullets compare to 18"-24" glasspacks in loudness? I have heard a few clips of them but they were poor quality but i think they sounded great but they were much louder than most glasspacks. I would get the 2 1/4 18" case length most likely. I am a little weary of making my pickup any louder cuz i just got pulled over by a hypo for having too loud of an exhaust. He had no idea what he was talking about and he didnt say anything about the glasspacks but he said the exhaust was "too short". The pipes come back to the front on the rear tire but according to him it is "too short" lol. He has a reputation for being an ******* but he was nice to me so i didnt want to say too much cuz i didnt feel like spending the night in jail or being slapped with a major fine. I am not too worried about the loudness of my pickup now cuz mine is quiet compared to a lot of pickups around here. The hypo just wanted to pull someone over @ 2 in the morning hoping to catch someone doing something illegal, but he was too stupid to even do that haha

Where do you live? If you're not in a green state, most of the time the exhaust gas just has to be directed AWAY from the cab. Which..it sounds like yours does. Maybe you should just dump it under the bed and put in a "dumby tailpipe" in the back. See if he likes that instead.

"no sound from the exhaust tailpipe...wow...what a beautiful creature. But why is it still rumbling?"

Good idea lol. Ill just get a tip and a small piece of scrap pipe and see what he thinks of that. Then i could proceed to tell him that i dont have duals anymore and that i have tri's and it cuts down on pollution and noise. He just might believe me. I live in south dakota... not exactly known for its strict emissions but i guess i just had a run in with wannabe robocop lol. The exhaust doesnt exit the side of the vehicle it has a turndown on the end and it is right infront of the passenger side rear tire and is under the bed. He looked under the pickup from the driver side and said "you dont even have an exhaust" lol i tried not to laugh and showed him where it was.
