Engine Heating Up?

In the last two or three days, the temperature guage on my '48 F1 goes all the way to "H" after driving a couple of miles. It then stays there for a few blocks, and goes back down to just over the mid-way point. No loss of coolant that I can see, at least no obvious signs on the driveway when I get home or in the engine compartment. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds like a thermostat may be a little slow opening up. Keep an eye on it as it might be time for a replacement.
