OK, I have a 85'Ford F-150, automatic 2wd .302 engine and my problem is when I start to press on the brake going about 30-65 my truck starts to shake really bad the cab especially. Could anyone please tell how to resolve this problem.
I assume you can recognize when your front rotors are warped.
This is more of a solid vibration sometimes felt through the
steering wheel. You can also feel the truck lurching as it
comes to a stop with the pedal still pressed. What I thought
was interesting about your post is maybe you were talking about
something I've experienced with 3 Ford trucks I've driven. I
would describe it more of a cab bounce. It seems the whole
truck is oscillating up and down in the middle when you apply
the brakes a certain way. We had a 85 302 2wd company pickup
that did this as well as a 90's 4x4 F250. My 1980 4x4 also
does this on occasion too. I read somewhere that Ford actually
designed truck frames to flex in the middle as part of the
suspension design. When I was working on my truck I noticed
in the area where the bed and cab meet, there are very large
holes cut in the frame. Maybe this is part of the supposed
design but you would think it would make the frame weak in this
area. I always wondered if this bouncing was a side affect of
this design. Anyway, if this is what you are talking about I
think there is nothing wrong with your truck.

when I start to brake coming to a stop my truck SHAKES very very bad its not vibration its a shake. I feel no vibration in the steering wheel but I will check my rotors to see if there warped
Zemus, It sounds like warped rotors. We had this happen to our 89' F-150. We found that the rotors needed attention. One other time on a different truck we noticed it and went to check the rotors and found that the lugs actually worked loose. Crazy. Good luck.
