You people may think that this is a stupid question, but from my VIN number can I determine the month/day/assembly plant were my truck was assembled? I know that all this information should be on the sticker in the door frame, but mine is no longer readable.
LAST EDITED ON 22-Jan-01 AT 11:43 AM (EST)[p]Using the VIN, you can get the assembly plant. The 'build date' is stamped on the front surface of the radiator support, passenger side. 0124=Jan24...1221=Dec 21
Assembly plant codes: C=Ontario, H=Lorain, K=Kansas City, L=Michigan, N=Norfolk, P=Twin Cities, R=San Jose, S=Allen Park, U=Louisville
The assembly plant code is the letter that preceeds the Sequence letter/number.
The first three VIN positions are the World Manufacturer Identifier, such as 1FT=Ford Motor Co Truck (complete vehicle)
The first 3 digits of your VIN number is the assy. plant code. the closest thing that is in there that might tell you what month and day is was made would be the sequence number at the very end of your VIN ahould be a leter followed by a 5 digit number. A= 0=99,999. B=100,000-199,00. Etc.
