The truck's always starting

On my 85 F250 460, I replaced my battery, starter, starter solenoid, alternator, and battery and starter cables, after a no start condition. Now I go to hook up the battery and it will just crank the starter, even with no keys or anything. Any suggestions???

Thanks Chad

Sounds like you've got the battery cable and starter cable on the same side of the solenoid, maybe?

Here's a rough diagram of how it should be hooked up.

With everything disconnected, you should not have continuity between #3 and #6 in the diagram above. If you do, the starter relay(solenoid) is bad.

Hook up all the wires except the small wire to the starter relay (point #5 in Franklin2's diagram). If it does not crank all by itself, hook up #5. If it begins cranking all by itself again, then you have a problem with the ignition switch &/or it's wiring.
