Lifting and/or swapping

I am planningon lifting my 93 F150 4x4, but I have heard alot of people complain about tires getting eaten, and I want to get the best tire life possible (the planned 35s aren't cheap) I want to lift it 6" with a super-lift stage 2, but I also want to swap in a solid axle, I have read the article on doing a similar swap, but it looked very incomplete and the author left no email address. I know National tire has a kit for a solid axle, but I don't have the money for the lift and solid axle conversion. I want to use a Dana 44 front axle fron a 79 F150 and the matching 9" rear, and was curious, will the M5OD hold up to 35s, will the BW13-56 hold up? Will I need new drive shafts? Thanks, eric

Lifting and/or swapping

Eric- I posted a very similar query on this board a while back with very little response. Here is my 2 cents: everything you want to do is possible, given enough time and money. If you are going to go to the trouble of swapping both axles for earlier components, consider dumping your tranny and t-case for a T-18 or NP435 and an NP205 t-case. If you do this you will probably need new driveshafts, possibly custom. Consider this - are you so attached to your truck that you're willing to swap out the entire powertrain (saw your previous post about the 351w swap)to get the truck you want? If not, consider selling your truck and buying a 351w equipped F-350!
