Hi Everyone -
Was in the process of mounting the cab onto the frame today w/ a new cab mount kit. When tightening the rear bolts I stripped one of them by overtightening. It seems the threaded portion is too short to really draw the mounts down.
Are they supposed to be this way? Everything does snug down, but seems they could go more.
I had to run a tap through one of the nuts to clean it up when I did mine. The bolts I got with the kit were long enough (just barely). I had a piece of threaded rod just in case they were too short.
Ford used alot of long-thread bolts and they are almost impossible to get.
The bolts themselves are more than long enough, but the threadless shoulder portion on the head end of the bolt seems too long so as to not tighten up as much as the original bolts
