Dual Tank Problem!

I have an 89'f350 4x4 crew cab with dual tanks. This is what happens and i did this several times already.I fill up the front and rear tank, and drive 150 miles on the front tank, the needle goes from full down to empty.but it runs out just before empty.so before 150 for no harm i switch it to the back tank.with the second tank full the guage reads full and after 25 miles the guage goes right down to empty and stays there and i can switch it back to the front tank which ran out before the front tank will show half a tank in the front tank and i can drive another 75 or so miles and then i am actually empty with both tanks.this is what i have been doing for the last few months.i read alot of problems with these dual tanks, and never goes away.i am thinking about buying a 38 gallon tank from jc whitney so i will only have 1 tank feeding the truck and relocating my spare because i have read with alot of problems with this dual tank situation, and would this 38 gallon tank be hard to hook up and gettin rid of the old tube.unless i can find a pernamnet fix for this problem.

Dual Tank Problem!

I'd definitely get rid of my dual tank setup if I had the money...
