360bbl sits to far forward

360bbl sits to far forward
have a 76 long bed half ton with a 360bbl.I pulled the trans and all.I am putting it in a 78 half ton short wheel base.That had a straight 6 .After droping it in it sits to far forward.And I dont see any way to move the risers back.both sets only hit two bolts.

I'm not sure about the differences in the F150 frames from '76 to '78, but '76 was the last year of the FE block in light-duty trucks. You may have to fabricate the towers and/or drill the frame for your existing towers to install the 360.
Your factory choices are going to be the 300 six, the 302, 351M and 400 V8's, and perhaps the 460.

the towers are the same for FE's and 300s. they sit farther forward on 300 trucks. there SHOULD be 2 sets of holes but if there isn't you will have to try bolting up the two holes that line up and try testfitting the engine, then drill the 2 holes.

you could attach the motormounts and towers to the engine but not the frame, then get everything else where it needs to be, measure to make sure the bolt holes are equal distances from the original bolt holes so you know its in there straight, then drill the new holes and bolt it up.........just make sure everything fits right(driveshaft,crossmembers etc..) before you drill....
