A couple months ago I took my old truck into the shop because one of the calipers were locked up, the brake got so hot it was smoking ! The shop replaced just about every brake component on the truck, calipers, rotors, brake hoses, parking brake cable, rear axel seals, rear brake shoes, you name it. When I signed the bill that was 3 pages long the service manger said it looked like a letter from home !
Well the new brakes squeeled so loud at first that people were laughing at me at the traffic lights.
Finally after two months the squeel went away ! :=)

Reroy, yeah, some of those new brake pads and shoes are really hard and squeel for quite a while before they wear in I have been lucky in that all the ones I have replaced I have been able to quiet down with disc brake quiet. glad to hear it finally got better for you. good luck,
John
Reroy, Nice to hear that the brakes have quieted down. I know some people that would have thrown in the towel. Two months is a long time, but at least you should not have to mess with those brakes for a lot longer time.
