Clylinder 5 location

Clylinder 5 location

Basic run down. Buddies 01 f 150 5.4l has a misfire on cylinder number 5. All my experience is with German Cars but need to find no.5 How does ford number their location a.k.a right side 1,2,3,4 left side 5,6,7,8? or visaversa, or checy style left, right and so on.

The passenger side of the engine is from front to rear 1-2-3-4 The drivers side of engine is from front to rear 5-6-7-8. Welcome to FTE.

the spark plug wires also say the cylinder #'s on them

the 5.4 is direct ignition. A coil on each plug. All are the same and no munbers besides a part number.

AND THANKS FOR THE REPLY ALL. I'll post up what I find. So far I replaced the plugs do to 92,000 miles on them and swaped the number 5 injector to number 6 to see if it follows the injector. if it doesn't I'll do a compression test next.

Followed up by another question after I have the readings I'm sure. lol
