im about to do some work on a 1991 f-250 4wd dually and i cant find a brake shoe for the rear its a verry narrow shoe smaller than whats on my 86 half ton is ti possible there is a dodge rear end in it ? the reason i ask that is the transfer case is shot i thought mabe a different rear gear was the problen untill i was asked to do the rear brakes the tag on the front axle says a 4:11 gear but there is no tag in the rear please help
independant front suspension four wheel drive no straight axle its a 3/4 ton any ways the shoes match the drum but there so worn and rusty that i couldnt get a number off them if i want to
F-250's were NEVER offered as a dually. To get a dually, you had to get an F-350. So you have a homemade truck.
You'll need to identify the rear axle to get brake parts for it. There are a couple axle identification guides around the Internet. Search for them here, and they've also been posted in the axle & tranny forum before.
