Gas mileage?

My 95 ford f-150 with an inline 6 cylinder came with 2 stock cats. I cut one of them off and put a flowmaster on it. It gave me worse gas mileage but then I reset the computer and got it back to normal. I want to cut the last cut off...hollow it out..then put it back on....but ive heard it will give me bad gas mileage that will stay bad..is this true?...can I fix that if so?

hmm...I'm not quite positive, but I'd think it might increase the mileage due to less restriction. Only think that I think might trouble you would be that you might throw a code or two...don't know for sure though.

Dont just hollow it out. Weld a piece of exhaust pipe inside it the size of the exhaust so flow stays good. Leaving a hollow chanber will do nothing but disrupt flow.

Yes. Mileage will improve. No, you won't have any problems as long as it is done properly. If you don't dink with the O2 sensor, you'll be fine.

Being done properly means welding a peice of pipe the same size as my exhaust through the cat is this correct?
