Need help with purchase

I'm in unfamiliar territory with this possible purchase, I hope you guys can help me make a decision. I presently have a 97 F350, cc, 4x4, 351w. I'm looking to purchase a 01 F250, supercrew, 2x4, longbox, 7.3 diesel, 34K miles. I do alot of short distance driving (work is only 10 min. away) and lots of city driving. Is this condition detrimental to diesels? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, aloha.

well diesels do like their heat to run good and burn the carbon out dont think a 10 min. drive is going to do that . you probably have to drive a little more on weekends to burn all the built up carbon out and blow it out a couple times. probably not going to get much heat out of it in the winter time in just 10 mins. also

Hey cowboy352u, thanks for the reply. I'm in Hawaii so not too concerned about winters (thank goodness). Would a weekend freeway run help to clean it out and keep things working OK you think?

sure and put some diesel clean in your fuel tanks every now and again to help get the injectors clean. i think you'll be alright.
