We're looking to buy a diesel box van where I work. We need a 10-14' box, and a liftgate. We probably will buy a used one. Anyone who knows anything about box vans good or bad, your comments would be appeciated.
We are looking for a Ford PSD, but we would take an Isuzu, Hino, International, Mitsubishi, or just about any popular brand with decent mileage and maintenance records. Need to know if there's anything to stay away from or look for.
Thanks,
Dan
Ford will have good power. Isuzu is a good truck with low power until about 2000. It was only about 175hp. It will move the truck but you cannot tow with it. The newer ones will. All the cab over models are probably easier to work on. I think Hino is owned by Toyota, but I don't think it has a Toyota drive train. International is good, and Mitsubishi too. The imports with a cab over, have small cabs. I don't think any large truck will get good milage like a pick up. But a diesel is the only way to go if you put a lot of miles on it. Maintenance is important. Maybe have a diesel mechanic inspect it for you. Good luck with it. Post back how you do, as I am looking for one also. Good luck with it.
