horn/signals/column

i know ill probably make some people angry with tis but my stock 2 spoke wheel is about 1/4 inch from the column and the horn and signal returns only work if i push the wheel into the column, would this be fixable by adjusting the column, buying a new ragjoint or coupler or what. also any other tips on what i should do while restoring the truck, im currently in the process.

check your front cab mounts to see if they are colapsed. if they are it could be pushing the column up into the cab.

the mounts are good, i have the floorpans cut off so theyre easy to access, im thinking of welding in a plate as a sort of preventive maintenance

then check the rag joint to make sure its seated all the way down on the steering box. there should be a bolt sideways on the shaft through the rag joint mount. if its not there it could be creeping up and pushing the column shaft towards you
