ABS light is on
For the past three-four days I have had a pack rat living in my engine compartment. So far I have tried both live traps and the snap traps. I have also put in posion. Have had no luck getting rid of the &%@ thing! Anyway, every morning I get up to see what damage the rat caused the night before. So far I have had to replace several wires that have had the insulation chewed off and it also chewed through the line that feeds the windshield washer. I have fixed all of that. Today however I discovered that it must have eaten through some wires going to the ABS module, because the ABS dash light now stays on. According to the book this means my anti lock brakes are now disabled. My question is.... where is the module located in the engine compartment and what does it look like? Also where else may the &%@ rat have chewed on some wires that may have caused this? I swear I'm gonna stay up with the 45 tonight and waste him!

On a 2001, I think the ABS module/brain is located in the Left-Front (driver side) wheel-well/fender. You'll need to remove wheel-well cover to access it. In addtion there is wiring from the ABS sensors (front wheels) that is routed through the back of the front wheel wells which in turn ties into the wiring harness. You'll want to check there as well.
As for the Rat.... Hotdogs soaked in radator fluid should do the trick... just be carfull if you have dogs, it will do a number on them as well.
