Order not accepted
Order not accepted
Ordered my '05 F-250 CC, V10, 4x4, Lariat Lux, 2 tone, LB, about everything but moonroof, on 3/10. Called early this week to see if it had been picked up and the salesman said not yet but he would let me know. Got a call this AM and he said it wasn't accepted and didn't know the reason why. I was a bit surprised at this as I didn't think any of my options would throw it out. I did order 18" wheels and thought there might be some delay but not rejected. Reading in this forum I found others that had about the same order date and many have VINs and expected delivery dates. Am I getting a line of BS (allocation) or did I cut it too close to '05 ordering deadline? He said we could work on ordering a '06 but he didn't have pricing yet. I told him I wouldn't do that until I have my own pricing info. I did throw out would he do the same deal on the V10 equipped truck but with a PSD if one is available. I highly doubt he will but I took a shot. He said he would see what he can locate and get back to me. I thought I was getting a good deal on the attempted ordered truck so I doubt he'll eat the PSD option.

I guess I'm stating the obvious, but there's no profit to be made by telling a customer that the dealership can't sell him a new truck and take his money- so I'd take that at face value. I posted on this forum in early March that we were having difficulties getting '05's placed, and had already been asked to move some order over to '06's. That should have been a big red flag waving- we're not a small store.

I'm afraid you may have cut it too close- the options now are for the dealership to try to locate something close, or do a '06. As you mentioned, I doubt they'll do a PSD for anything resembling the same money because 1) $5800 is a lot to eat and 2) They're on short supply as well. If it were me, I'd jump all over the '06, because the longer you wait, the longer the delivery will be delayed, since there's already spillover into the new model year. Good luck, whatever you decide.

Thanks for the reply Polarbear, I was hoping you would offer some advice. A little bummed right now with the news almost like my Christmas got cancelled but everyone else is opening gifts. Like I said I'm surprised because others have orders progressing with similar order dates, similar trucks. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks the dealership dropped the ball and the order was placed late and it didn't make the cut. Maybe not, but I'll never know and need to move forward. Is it unreasonable to ask them to order the '06 at the agreed pricing I had on the '05? Will rebates will not be as attractive on an early '06 order? I hope Cabellas will let me return the Husky floorliners I ordered. Got a little antsy with excitement and bought too early. Maybe they'll fit the '06.
I'm sure the floor liners will fit the '06, so I wouldn't get too hasty. Ordering for '06's commences next week, I'm told, and we should have pricing by May 1st, since production commences May 16th. I'm not expecting anything dramatic as far as price increases go, but the rebate status is always the great unknown. Let Jeff or I know if we can be of any help.
