parking brake

i pulled a shotty floor patch off my 72 f100 and found the emergency brake cable between the two panels running through a hole in the floor. could anyone tell me where this is supposed to go , maybe a hole drilled through the firewall?
i wanna put the nice new floorpans in.

With the parking brake mounted to the side of the foot panel, if you go to the bracket holding it to the firewall/fender, the hole is right underneath the bracket on the floor.

i know theres that hole but then the cable comes back between the floor pan and cab mount and goes out through a hole in the floor on the side of the tunnel

thats where it is suposed to go . it actually crosses to the passenger side and attaches again at the crossmember where the rear of the cab mounts to. then a lever applies the force to the two cables going to the seperate rear brakes.

ok thanks. the cable from the lever to the spreader broke so i used a turnbuckle and some aircraft control cable to attach it all, now it's nice and adjustable
