Would a non-California 78 F-150 have had an air injection system? When I re-did my engine several years back, I tossed the EGR, Thermactor, etc, but there was never an air injection system, nor do my manifolds have the ports for them.
Also, is there an EGR adapter plate that I could use to put the EGR back on my engine with the Edelbrock Performer kit?
I think you have to have the Performer EGR to use it. The regular Performer doesn't have the exhaust port under the carb. I guess you could use a 4bbl EGR plate under the carb and fake it.
The sir pump usually pumps into a tube that is connected on the back of the heads with a check valve near the middle for the hose.
Use the EGR setup off a 351W. It has a plate under the carb with a valve. It has a tube that goes from one head to the other that feeds gas to the EGR. You would have to fabricate adapters for it. You could also lift the controls for the EGR from the 351W.
