Starting Problems and slow problems

Well i got this problem... When you go to start the thing it sounds like the battery is dead and the engine slowly turns over but then it fires up. Some times when it's been runnin for sometime then i shut it off for less then a min it wont start and the engine slowly turns like the battery is dead but then if u leave it sit for a little like 2,3,4 mins it will start again... Any one know? Also i put it in 4 wheel drive today to go up a hill i pulled it all the way back so it was in 4L and i went to pull out in 1st and it jerked and kciked then it stalled and there was this really bad smell of burnt rubber like i burned out or the clutch was spinin or something??? The guy told me he use to leave the hubs locked in all the time. Could the 4 wheel drive be messed up?? or did i just **** up pullin out?? Also , lol last question, It doesn't have pick up and go. i mean ill put it to the floor and it doesn't really start to go it just goes really slow and slowly picks up speed. Anything i can go to fix this??

i have no idea what year, engine tranny you got. cant help ya to much here. fill out your sig with rigs info. it helps us help you.

sounds like you need new negative/Positive battery cables and possibly a new battery. take it to a partshouse for testing before you buy one though.
Now for the 4wd, you didnt engage 4wd on pavement did you? this is a big no no. but because i dont know what year you have hard to say if its an older or newer tcase. but the linkage might be messed up or binding , could be low on fluid.
