Hi all,
It seems my 84 has visited Yellowstone Park, & returned with Old Faithful. Yup, leaking radiator hissing out steam when I run.
I was weighing the option of junkyard vs new. As a man who never got 1 from a junkyard, what should I look for? Is it easy to do a pressure test on them at the yard? Should I just get new? New 1 will be about $120... I'm sure boneyard will be much less.
Any opinions?

I got a rad from a junkyard once, once. I would not recomend it. Go ahead and get the new one, you won't be disapointed.
Chances are, the junkyard rad will be just as bad (if not worse) then what you have now. Save the heart ache (and bleeding knuckles) and just get a new one. That way you only have to do the job once.

I just have to make one comment.. why would you want to go junkyard if the radiator is only 120.00? Thats not bad at all.. Considering it cost me 450.00 to buy a new one for my truck a couple years ago... I was actually using a chevy car radiator and when it blew went to go get new and thats what it cost me..
