Does anyone have any experience with the heated seats on the Expedition? Passenger side works, but driver side doesn't. Seems to be getting power to the seat, but no heat. Can it be repaired or do you have to replace it. Not sure how the system works. Is it like a heating pad, and the elements just burn out? Do you have to take the seat apart to repair/replace. Any info would be appreciated. (1999 Expedition)

My heated seat went out on my 99 expy and they had to replace the whole inside of the seat. It looked like the heating element is together with the foam cushion of the seat. I was lucky that my truck was still under warranty otherwise it would of costed something like $700. I think you can repair them but you have to find out where the break is. Good luck let us know what happens.
Seems to be a common problem on the 99s. Mine has the same problem and I know of a couple other people on here with the same thing. I tried asking a while ago but didn't get much response. So far you've gotten a better response than I did. If you figure it out let me know.
I have a 2000 EB with the same problem. I think it is very common. I have found another forum somewhere that discusses how to repair this, includes pictures. But that is on my home computer if I saved the link, and I can't find it now. Search also in this forum. Here is one discussion: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...eat+expedition
I think it is basically a broken heating wire, and I have seen dealer estimates from $400 to $700 for repair. Spring is here now, and as long as the passenger seat works and keeps my wife's rear end warm, my life is good.
