volare clip install

I am building a 53 f-250 with a 76 volare clip. Can anyone tell me where I cam find templates for cutting the frame and installing the new cloip.

can you tell me if the frame on a f-100 and a f-250 are the same dimensionally ??? if so I can help you

Can't tell you in 53, but in 56 they were the same dimensions except for a small difference in the rear spring hanger spacing. Don't think that would have any effect on an IFS install.

I have just installed the volare (1985 New Yorker) in my 55. I used the templates from Bob's and it went fairly smooth. I would advise that in using the templates do not treat them as the final word on the cuts. All volare ifs are different and some of the contours of the top of the ifs body needs to trimmed a little different. It will looked alot better and after cleaning everything it will weld in easier. I would also recommend that you look for a later model volare clip. This would help with wear items (less miles at time, hardware in better shape, easily available) and if you look hard enough you can find them for well under $50. Just tell the junkman that you are fixing a car and not what you are planning to do with it. They will take advantage of the rodders when they can.
