Lightning tuning

Does anyone know anything about the SCT pro racer software?
like how much power I can produce?

2000 lightning, eaton and intake ported and polished, Bassini cat-back, 20lb pulley's, alum. driveshaft, new alum water to air inter, pushing WAY over 8 psi boost (lol)

Hi Roddz you go without a custom tuned programmer with all these mods?
Sorry, can´t answer your question.

Greetings,

André

With 20 lb pulleys you are probably overheating the Eaton and actually producing less hp, not to mention (if you don't have a built block) you are most likely getting ready to ventilate your block.

well less hp then if what? and I assume thats why the sftermarket incooler was put in, and now resides under the radiater with the open air cooling it through the gaping hole in the front fasia. And lets not forget, whatever hp it's creating- it's running mid 12's.

Is there a temp gauge for air/water intercoolers?

I thought Ford did a great job on (building this block up for this anyway?)

I use SCT on my boosted and intercooled 94 Lightning/5.8 and my brothers F-150/5.0 and it has worked out rather well.

SCT will give you a "base" file for your combo, but It'll probably need to be modified because it'll be a safe tune. From there, the best way to get the most out of it is on the dyno, or road/track tuning with a wideband, and datalog with a scan tool like Autotap.

On a side note, at 20psi, I can't see how your rods are holding up since they're like toothpicks. 450-500rwhp is about the limit for those rods, beyond that, it's just a matter of when they will snap...did you mean 2lb pulley?

To tell you the truth, thats what I was told, I don't have a clue. All I do know is the times, the feel, and the boost this thing is producing. But when I think things like (alumminum driveshaft?) I trust that who owned it before planned for the power. But I've got 2 trucks, so if it blows, I'll know it's solid as a brick #$$%@@$ next motor, LoL.

You know to think about it, I know they took out like7,000 in audio/video- so they may have had a programmer they weren't parting with either.

What I'm getting at is the Eaton will over heat if it is overworked.... now depending on how good your intercooler is and how hot it is when you run it will depend on how much heat it will produce, but never the less they are really only good to about 14-16 lbs of boost (that's why some go for the KB or Whipple SC). I guess what I need to know is if you are pulling 20 lbs total boost, or are you putting 20 lbs on top of the stock 8? Never the less, either ammount of boost on a stock block is a ticking time bomb.

well, I believe I'm running around 14-16 psi, thats to say my current gauge only goes to 10-...............judgeing by guess from there, theres 2 more increments on the gauge past 10, I assume 11, 12, and I'm slamming that and bouncing the needle. I'm planning on a new gauge as soon as I get a day off to install it.

I am reaching that BOUNCE or 12, at only about 3/4 throttle, wich I don't push much more than that,(nor do I need too) Most runs are quick, to get to speed, lol, then I let it bypass- I'm not dragging this truck over and over, and temps right now are in the 70's, when it's 100 outside, I won't run it much.
