Another gauge question

Just installed an EGT and a Trans temp gauge. From reading posts I guess that a good redline for the egt is about 1100(safe side) pre turbo but what would a good redline for the trans temp be?

I can get to 1200 EGT completely stock towing my trailer up a grade. I don't consider this temperature a problem. If you limit yourself to 1100, you will be giving up significant performance headroom. Just a thought...

I have posted a similar question and was told 1275 for 13 seconds .
I have mine set at 1150 .
Trans temp is set at 190 and I don't tow anything .
Here is a link for the trans temp http://www.mag-hytec.com/Transmission_pans.htm

Hope this helps

I searched and searched for a "true" answer to the EGT question and finally settled on the idea that 1350 was probably the top temp to hit and running at 1250 would not hurt anything. Do a search here and on the heavy duty forum and see what is said about trans temps and then decide what you want to follow .
