tranny issues??

tranny issues??
OK, I am having a few issues with my tranny. Reverse slips out when I first try to get it in, then once its in its great....the same with downshifting to second gear...just second gear, and only when downshifting. What is the deaL?

It probably would be popping out of more gears....I guess it would depend on how much the input shaft were walking.
I only really mentioned it as a possibility because I was sitting here reading over the dissassembly instructions for the ZF. Not something I'm going to try at home, it might cost more for all the special tools that it would for a tranny shop to rebuild it.

I have access to a bmw mechanic shop for...FREEEEEE so what ever I need ot do Im sure I can get er done on the tranny...how hard is it to replace the syncros an just as important...how expensive....
