First a question,Do I hjave to remove the starter to take the torque converter cover off my c6(1986 6.9 4x4).As I was starting to change the trans fluid and filter i found there are 4 crossthreaded bolts in the trans pan .I found the first one when i broke the head off thinking it was just stubborn, oops. And of course 2 of them are on the backside where the t/case crossmember will be in the way of using an easy out to remove them. Not sure if i will have to rethread to next size up or use a heli-coil.Oh fun!!!!!
tried drilling and using an easy-out,only suceeded inbreaking many bits ,and the tool that holds the extractor bit.now its time to get the easy outs. i am doing has much of the initial drilling with the pan still on to make sure i don't get any metal debris into the trans.
