digital trans range sensor?
hey everybody, my truck keeps blowing the fuse for the back-up lights, blend door actuator, day time running lights, and the digital transmision range sensor. what does this sensor all do? and will it wreck anything if i keep driving it until i get it fixed. its a 15 amp fuse. oh my truck is a 1998 F-250LD super cab lariat 4x4.

start with the easy stuff, check the reverse bulbs and headlights for shorts. Then check the transmission range sensor(TR/MLP) for water getting inside the connector to it. It is on the drivers side of the trans by the shift lever. If any moisture has gotten inside it, it could be shorting out that circuit and needs to be replaced. The sensor sends a signal to the computer(PCM) as to what gear you have the selector placed into. It also acts as a saftey sensor so that you will not start the vehicle when it is in gear and sends a signal to turn on the reverse lights when you are in reverse. It could cause the vehicle to start shifting concerns with codes or no codes being set.
