I just installed the ISSPRO gauges. And I learned about tapping which I have never done before. On the spro it is a 1/4NPTtap bigger than the 1/4 NC tap. Get your tools gathered before attempting any work. Just my learning experience.
Autometer gauges are 1/8"; when I switched from the Edge monitor (1/8") to the autometer pryo probe, it threaded right into the hole that I had tapped previously.
Hey did you guys weld a bushing onto the manifold for extra support and tap that too or did you just tap into the manifold? Where did you guys drill your holes? Did you drill down from the top or up from underneath? Did you take the manifold off or drill and tap it with it on? Where did you run your wire through the firewall? ANy problems? Where did you get power for the gauge? I have a 2005 F350 I want to install one myself. I got quoted $250.00 for installation, I think thats a bit much and my local custom truckshop won't do the work. I really just need one meter so I am thinking about mounting it ontop of the dash, on the left side, underneath the drivers side pillar handle. I think a white gauge from autometer with blue backlight as close I can get to stock look. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I tow alot in the desert pulling my boat to the river during the summer and I think this gauge is important. I live in the Inland Empire area of southern california. Maybe I could buy someone some beer to help me
I am loving my truck, btw, but the wifes already calling it the "the money pit" LOL. (She likes the truck too, I am sure of it)
