Cool Brake help

I did a search and couldn't come up with much.
I noticed recently that my rear pass. tire was getting hot to the touch, pulled the brakes, turned the rotors, new pads... one of the caliper pistons on that side was stuck in the "brakes applied" position, clamping the pad firmly to the rotor.... I was able to free it with a significant amount of force from a c-clamp... after driving back to school I noticed the same symptoms... Is there any cheap solution to relube the caliper to make it functional -- short of a new caliper of course.
Thanks in advance

Nope, get a rebuilt caliper and replace it - once the piston is hanging up, there's gotta be a reason - mostly corrosion between the cylinder and the piston.

You're much better off getting a rebuilt/new one.

Thanks...
Should I replace both sides? or would just one be fine?

If you're short on money, do the one that's sticking. It won't hurt to change only one.

If you have the money, do both. I would. If one is sticking, and it keeps doing it, the other is right behind it.

Either way, make sure it's bled correctly. I just checked the service manual, and it says if just the caliper was replaced, the entire system doesn't need to be bled, just that one caliper.

Just one caliper to bleed eh? I'll probably just replace and bleed both and hopefully be done with it
Thanks for the quick response

I had the left rear caliper sticking on mine, replaced it and no more than 3 weeks later the left front did the same thing so I replaced the other three.

As someone else said if it's sticking somethings wrong, in my case I had 55,000 miles on the truck and never changed the brake fluid.
