Rebate question

My truck is due to arrive on 4/4/05. I see the cash back is $2000. My question is, if I take the cash back, does Ford require you to finance thru them and if so, how long must I finance thru them before refinancing thru the credit union? I checked both ways of taking the cash back and financing thru the credit union or just taking fords 1.9% for 48months and I am ahead by taking the cash back. Not to mention, I have never taken 4 yrs to pay off a vehicle, usually 2.5 yrs.

Thanks

I believe that rebate is consumer cash- no financing required. I also think there isn't any bonus cash on SD's. You didn't mention what model it was.

The truck is an F250 SD CC King Ranch 4x4 PSD. My dealer thinks he can get me financing 0.75% lower than my credit union. I didn't expect to get any bonus cash just the $2000 cash back rebate and plan to just turn that over to the dealer to reduce the loan amount.

Sounds like a plan. I'm not a big fan of using the assistyed rates instead of the rebates, because the manufacturers are betting you'll trade it back in before the note is paid off. hmmm.
