Last fall the trans shop that rebuilt my transfer case told me I have a crack in the transmission - I knew my new trans pan was still leaking, but a crack in the trans case was news to me and a surprise. I parked the truck for the winter and have just started driving it again.
To the best of my line of sight, I can't seem to find a crack anywhere, but my new TCI deep aluminum pan is collecting drops of fluid in several of the allen heads of the pan bolts. I've gone all over and checked the bolt torque, but I suspect my pan is leaking around the bolts.
What is the best way to seal up the threads? Silicone? RTV? Teflon? I want to give this a try and see if it clears up. I don't have much faith or respect for the trans shop that did the t-case.
