Without any MAJOR repairs,180-200,000 mi.With maybe a rear or trans. or both over 300 K.Those have all been any combo.302 auto,351 auto,300 manual,2 wd-4wd,etc.Have seen a few with over 200 K and not much at all done to them, but they looked/ran/drove like it too and definitely should'nt have been on the road.
Perhaps the reason you've heard bad things, are because the bad things are the only things anybody talks about.
My Grandpa claimed to have over 500K on his old truck when I was little (key word is claimed, I was just a wee pup).
Then again, my ford taurus (not a truck, which ford does notably build better) has had multiple problems, and multiple transmissions, at only 40K miles.
My F-150 has 150K, with only tranny problems, mostly caused by user error...the 5.8 runs like a striped *** ape!
