Hi all, this is my first post but have been reading others for about 4 months now. I have a 2001 F-350 V10, 4X4, CC, LB and am ready for a tuner. So which one delivers the best performance. Looks like either the Hypertech or the Superchips. I am going to buy the Banks headers, tough deciding between Borla and Banks. I also want to do either the Cyclone fan or electrics. Not sure if electrics can pull enough air to cool the V10, any one have any feedback? Well thanks for your time.
The superchip tuner by many opinions is superior to hypertech. I have banks headers on my V10 and I love them. If you are going to do headers, I would address the y pipe. It is very restrictive. Maybe other will chime in on the fan questions. There has been some discussion about the actual benefits of them.
Thanks for the reply. I did order the Y-Pipe with my headers. On your superchips tuner, does it give you the option of minor tuning for 87 oct.? The hypertech is on the way along with the header (purchased from truck performance), but am considering an exchange for the superchips.
There is some tuning in 87 but not much. All it does is firm up the tranny. I can talk form experience though, from the day I got it, it was set to performance mode. Never looked back. And to tell you the truth. The MGP I picked is offset by the price per gallon of 93 octane. So to me it was well worth it. All that power with a wash at the pump. I am happy
