I'm probably going to be buying a 93-96 F-150 within a few weeks. The system I built for my Ranger is nice enough for me. I'd like to duplicate it in the new truck. I'm looking at an extra cab. Does anyone have pictures of their under-rear-seat sub box setup so that I can start planning and designing my own? Thanks!
No such a thing....atleast no production built box anyway. There's not any real room under the rear seat for a speaker box. The only way to make one fit, would be to raise the rear seat up and make your own brackets/braces for it. On my 94, I just used a pre-built box (One RF 10) and put it between the front and rear seat in the middle. Still room for 2 in the back. I think I'm going to build a box for the center of the rear seat tho, and make it kinda of like a center console/armrest type thing.
How many inches would I need to raise it? I could easily fabricate my own spacers. Could anyone maybe post some pics of what it looks like under those rear seats so I can start planning?
Yeah, no room at all...er...maybe 3 -4 inches max, but that's it. Why not just do like i did and get a box to fit in the middle between the seats? Do you just want it out of site? Want to keep room for 3 in the back??
On My 1998 I have to raise the back seat 2 inches to get enough space for the box. Have since taken that out and replaced with one between the front and rear seats, sounds much better!
I like to keep my systems as flawlessly integrated into the vehicle as possible. To somehow make it look like it came from the factory that way. With expensive components not visible, it is less likely that someone will see them and decide to take them home. And yeah, I'd kinda like to keep room for 3 in the back. With total seating for five, an extra cab truck is infinitely more valuable than a car. The box for the 97-03 I'd have no problem making myself once I get all the dimensions figured out. Looks like I need to cool my heels for a bit anyway. Seems I miscalculated how much time I have left on my probationary period at work so I've got 5 weeks till I'm passed and able to buy...not 3 as I was thinking.
