05' superduty cab steps
found the exact truck I want except for ONE thing
it has the molded black cab steps instead of the chrome tubular cab steps
1. do you think dealer would swap them for the ones I want?
2. are the mounting points the same for both types of steps?
3. would there be any marks left from where they would take off the molded steps and put on the the chrome?

I had the same problem when I bought mine 6 weeks ago. They both mount with clips that mount to the truck. You can move the clips to different holes for the different types of steps.
My only problem was that I bought a regular cab. Because regular cabs are so rare, the dealer didn't want to trade steps with me. I ended up buying the chrome ones and getting stuck with the plastic ones.
BTW, you can buy the chrome ones alot cheaper than for what Ford sells them for.
Also, does anyone want to buy some brand new black molded steps for a regular cab??????????

I might be interested in them. I have been looking for the black molded ones for my 2005. I prefer them to the chrome steps (work truck). Email me with details of where you are and how much.
