steering noise
Help. I recently purchased a 2002 F350 diesel with 24k miles. Very nice truck with some Banks products and other goodies. I had the truck serviced Friday and it was found to be excellent overall. I ran it thru the car wash Sat am and shortly after that it developed a creaking noise whenever I turn the steering wheel ( stationary or moving). Doesn't sound like a belt , but could be I guess. Was quiet before the car wash. Any thoughts? I hate to pay a mechanic needlessly. Thanks

Hi and welcome to FTE 
Try turning the steering back and forth with the engine off and see if it makes the same noise. If not, then it could be the belt. If it got some water on it it might make noise for a while.
