What do you think Ford has in store for the future of the Explorer? Any thing you want changed? Or want it to have? I think they should have a gps option. maybe make the 4x4 or towing power better.
Well, I just bought a new 2005 XLT Sport so I NEED them to stay exactly the same for at least 5 years LOL!
Seriously though, I can think of three things I'd like to see:
1. Heated Seat option without having to spend so much for the EB or Limited.
2. MP3 support. Yeah, the specs say it has it standard, but in typical Ford fashion it is LATE AVAILABILITY and I got screwed (again). This nonsense has been going on for YEARS! What the hell is Ford's problem with getting MP3 Playback into it's head units? No one else has this problem.
3. This is a true-to-the-heart deal for me. At one time (92-96) Ford had the BEST Sport Bucket Seat in the industry, bar none. It was literally perfect in every regard. Adjustable thigh support, lumbar suppor and adjustable wings. It was truly an incredible seat. Then, in 1997 or 1998 it went to these decongtented 'sport' bucket seats that, frankly, sucked. The seats in my 2005 are better than what were in mhy 98 Ranger and 2003 Ranger, but NOTHING beats the Sport Buckets that were in my 92 and 94 Explorers, or 96 Ranger.
Larry, did you say 2005 Explorer Sport? I called my salesman about trading my 2002 Sport for a new one and he said they discontinued the
sport. I better call him tomorrow, I don't care for the 4-door.
Sport no longer means 2 door. It is a trim level between the XLT and Eddie Bauer.

I have to agree with Larry, the seats in my '95 Explorer were some to best seats I've had in any vehicle including multiple BMWs! The seats in my current '99 Explorer have been seriously decontented and can't compare to the '95s. I'm glad to hear someone else feels the same way.
