Hello. I have a 1994 F150 XLT 5.0. It is a short bed, 2 door. Now, my question deals with a complete exhaust system. I plan to get a set of Hooker ( ceramic coated ) headers, a Flowmaster X-pipe, high flow cats, and Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers. Now, my question is, is everything I plan possible? Can I dual out my truck? Can I make the pipes come out before each rear tire? Another thing is, I'm planning on lowering my truck. Either just 2'' in the rear or a 2''-4'' drop. Now i realize that lowering the truck will cause clearance issuse with the headers. So, this is were you fine people come in. What do i do? Now, performance is my #1 priority here. What size headers should i use? What brand of headers and what size is really the best for performance? ANY tips and/or advice is GREATLY appreciated. I'm still learning and trying to get as much information as possible. Thanks.
Well if you plan on lowering it, you will want to get shorty headers, long tubes probably won't fit. I do not know if you can the pipe to run out right in front of each tire. I have seen alot of people run them out right behind the rear tire. I have mine running straight out underneath the bumper. I suggest either getting rid of the cats or putting a high flow cat in its place.
You will be able to get more detailed information if you post this in the exhaust form.
