11.9 Mpg

Just got back from a 750 mile fishing trip. 65/75 MPH straight down the turnpike pulling a 19’ bass boat. 11.9 MPG! Truck looks good, but the fuel mileage is disappointing,

Friend with a Dodge ragged on me the entire way (since he was paying half of the fuel bill). Same trip 2 years ago with a 1/2 GMC 13.5 mpg. Year before that with friends Dodge 16.5 MPG.

F-250, 6.0 (For now.)

You running stock...IE height, tires? Your 19ft boat and trailer cant weight more that 5K does it. That seems low but IMO it should be better by about 2 MPG.

Stock

Stock other than 285 tires which I compensated for in the mpg calculation (4%) .

I had the dealer install BFG 285'S when it was new and at the time dealer said I would have to come back and get the speedo recalibrated going to the bigger tires. Tried using a GPS with bigger tires 265 to 285's and the speedo was dead nuts with the 285's soo your speedo may be right on.

I pulled a 16' cargo loaded with 3 full size bikes plus one in the bed and 4 adults with all the trimmings (I'd guess somewhere in the 9k to 11k range) down to Florida from Ohio and got just under 12 mpg. Speed around 75 or 80 mph. Unloaded highway by myself 18. In town about 14.5 maybe 15. Towing any significant weight 12+ depending on terrain. I'd like better but a truck this big, you can't expect miracles. I have gotten used to it (lovin' my truck that is!!).

I have a 2004 F250 CC FX4 sb 6.0 w/285 Revos and I pulled a 6K lb. utility trailer to Colorado and back last fall and I averaged 10.0 mpg on the trip running stock. When unloaded I average 13.5 overall with about two thirds of my driving being in town. I do not let my foot become heavy on the accelerator. I have had no mechanical problems whatsoever with this truck but it hurts badly when I get this mpg and it costs $75 for a fillup. But life goes on. Good Luck.

I get no more and no less then 12.5 on the city and highway pulling nothing.
My truck only has 700 miles on the clock and build date was 1/05, wonder if it
gets alittle better with some miles even though I am happy with 12.5.

Man...that doesn't sound right! When my 03 was new I was getting almost 20. Now with my setup I get 16 hwy. I know there were alot of changes but those #'s are terrible IMO. I wish I could help ya with some kinda cure.
