I always put some newspaper underneath the front pumpkin and the driver's side of the front axle as some oil will come down there. There are many places (i.e. summit) that sell remote oil filters, but finding a really good place for it in a '96 Bronco may be a bit tough.
i put a remote filter on mine and it lowered my oil pressure, so i took it off. I know they arent supposed to lower it oil PSI, but it did and its off. I got pics of the install on superford, even though its not there anymore
I have a remote filter on my 80 Bronco, it has a 460 in it. I used high pressure hoses on it, no efect to the oil pressure, mounted next to radiator on the core support.

Not too be an *** but arent you supposed too add more oil too the system it would act like it is running low on oil.
I'm using a Perma-cool remote filter set-up and the filter location is behind the bumper. There are holes there and you simply make a bracket to mount it onto the bumper and onto the filter housing. No mess at all on your next filter change.
