Climate Control Blackout

I know this has come up before and I've found some threads in the archives that refer to the same problem.

Today with the outside temperature in the 50s,all of a sudden a blank heater control panel on my 05 PSD Lariat that just turned 6000 miles. Turned truck on and off, tried all pushbuttons, nothing.

Since this has come up on the forum before by numerous others,I was wondering if any one has discovered a cause and a permanent fix.Hate to have this happen in a blinding snow storm on the interstate.Or for that matter when it's 95 degrees and no air vents.

I plan to take it to the dealer, but any updates on this problem would be appreciated, so as to prepare me for the service manager BS which I'm sure to get.

The same has happened to me and quite a few others on here, but have only heard of it happening in very cold temps not at 50F.......Mine only did it one time and never since. I dont think anyone has come up with what exactly happens. I told my dealer and they pretty much told me they could find nothing wrong.

Have had this happen 3 times now at various temps from -30 to +45. The dealer has physically verified it all 3 times but when they go to fix it it magically works and I get a "could not duplicate, working as designed" answer .
Svc mgr said that hotline will not let them diagnose the system if it is working when they get to it even though they actuall saw it not working. I think the glitch is in the steering wheel but this is just a guess. I have also caught the system blinking out while I am driving, just enough to catch the eye and make you look but comes right back on.
Adding to my lemon case since it is not repairable (not broken) according to Ford.
I don't think it is the dealers fault, they can only work on what hotline tells them they will be paid for, I can understand them not wanting to risk working for free.
