ive heard that i need ton use a special type of coolant in my deisel because of cavitation.is this true?if so ,what kind and where can i get it?thanks guys.
Yes you are correct you need to use an anti-cavitation fluid. The best I have found is made by Case for their tractors so you should be able to get it from any Case dealer. Just follow the instructions.
napacool is a coolant additive along the likes of fleetgaurd (at ford/IH) or the case stuff. you're looking for SCA's or DCA's - Supplemental or Diesel Coolant Additives. they aid in fighting against cavitation, as noted.
you want a measured amount, so buy the test strips when you get the additive. add correct amount per mfr directions. the different brands may have different properties that don't mix well, so... well, so don't mix them.
some coolants also come pre-charged with SCA's, so that's an option.
i use low silicate green napa stuff & their napacool pre-charged coolant filters, myself.
