So, allow me to tell you a story. When walking to my truck one evening after using the remote starter, I noticed that one of the liscense plate lights was flickering. I tapped it a few times with my finger and thought nothing of it. Got in the truck and drove off. A few miles down the road I noticed that all the gauge lights and the backlights for the radio were out. Headlights, turn signals and brake lights all still worked. So I assumed a fuse had popped and after inspection at home, I found one of the fuses in the engine compartment fuse panel had indeed popped. Next morning went to look at the liscense plate light and it had fried something fierce. The whole assembly had melted due to a short of some kind. Went to the store got the fuse and a new bulb and replaced the fuse. Ended up going to the stealership and replacing the entire light assembly as the old one had to be cut at the wires. Replaced everything and all works. So here is the question part. Formerly before this fiasco, when using the remote to unlock, lock or remote start the truck, the parking lights would flash and then stay on if started. Now, they no longer flash or come on if remote started. So, I beleive that circuit is there on the factory remotes if memory serves correctly when locking and unlocking the truck. So does anyone know what fuse I should be hunting for or have any insight as to how to go about repairing that function? I already looked at one of the fuses I saw which was part of the alarm/remote start system and it was fine so I'm a little befuddled. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
