well today i am installing new ball joints a powertrax locker and some new seals in my axle and in order to replace the inner oil seal next to the diff i have to remove the carrier and i would like to know what the torque spec is before i go taking it apart or if i have to use a dial indicator???
You should only need a dial indicator if you changed the carrier out and had to reshimmed, so that you can measure the backlash. If it's still the stock carrier with the same stock shims how they were you shouldn't need to check the backlash.
Bearing cap torque on the Dana 50 is 60ft/lbs.
