hey there... i have 3 glow plugs that have been demeed damaged. now they could be the connection that runs underneath the valvecover or the plugs themselves. i was wondering if anyone has tried to do something simular or is opening up the valvecovers just a problem waiting to happen.

There's nothing intimidating about what's under the valve covers. In response to your problem, you could have bad glow plugs, you could have a bad wiring harness under the valve cover, you could have a bad valve cover gasket, or you could have bad terminal connections on the wiring harness that connects to the valve cover gasket outside the valve cover. The last thing is what was wrong with my truck. I don't want to tell you how much time was spent "fixing" things under the valve cover, when the problem was on top of the engine all along.
Don't worry about what's under the valve covers. It takes a lot of time to get them off, but it ain't scary.
Good luck.
