Tailgate Compatibility Question

Does anyone know what year Rangers used tailgates interchangeable with a 1985 Ranger? I have an '85 Ranger Turbo Diesel, and am in need of a new tailgate. Thanks.

Thats a little to early for me but I'm thinking you might be good until 92. If you don't get anymore replies a local junkyard should be able to give you the answer.

Ken's got it exactly right...all of them through '92 will interchange. The XLT had the stainless cover, it just screws on, so if you find one with that you can use it as is or remove the cover (It's only cosmetic anyway).
