Universal Joint U-bolts
Looking for a vendor that carries Universal Joint U-bolts for a 60 ford 3/4 ton. Can't find any finder that carries them. The ford number at least from 57-63 master parts manual was C8UZ-4529 A and they are 5/16"-14. Appreciate any help.

Try Dennis Carpenter. Parts Voice says they have them but they don't show in the Dennis Carpenter catalog. You may have to call. NAPA also says they have them as part of the U-joint kit. I got mine from JobLot Automotive as part of the U-joint kit.

Any Ford dealer should have them. THey still used those up until 1997 and probably still do. I always had those right on the shelf. Ford only uses 2 sizes. THey're open 1/2 day on Sat., so stop by. Give that number to NAPA, if they carry them, it will cross over into thier brand. Alot faster than ordering them.

Sounds like you have some lazy parts guys at that dealership. Take the part number and tell them to look in the price book. If it's in there, it's a good part number. If it's not, tell them to look in the OSI book to see what supercedes it. It will be either superceded or written as N/R (obsolete). If they don't have it, tell them to call around to other dealers in the area. They sound like kids who won't look up anything unless it's on the CPD (computerized parts display). These kids don't know what a paper parts book is. They wouldn't work for me long if I was manager there. I made my guys go thru the wringer to help customers, no matter what age the vehicle was.
